Pregnant
moms seeking information should attend a Comprehensive Prenatal
Breastfeeding Class. I offer classes that contain up to date
information and hands on instruction to give the mom, her partner and
their baby the best start possible.
Classes are instructed in small
group sessions limited to 12 attendees and their partner/support
person. Groups generally consist of moms, their partners and/or another
support person.
It is recommended that the class be taken between
weeks 32 and 36 weeks so that should your baby arrive earlier than
expected you will be prepared.
Classes
are generally 2 1/2 hours long. This allows time to go over the
information, practice different feeding positions and have a question
and answer period.
I schedule classes in as
comfortable an environment as possible for pregnant moms and in an
environment that presents real life scenarios for the new breastfeeding
mom; such as a room with couches to imitate a typical living room in
someones home.
Participants are asked to bring a
pillow, receiving blanket and a baby doll. We will be using these items
to practice positioning, building pillow tables and swaddling.
I
will give participants a packet with a synopsis of the information we
go over in class, relevant charts and local area resources and internet
resources.
Class participants will also receive a discount on any additional services.
Class Fees:$30.00 per class. Fees cover moms and their partner/support person and any related materials.
