While there is one hospital in the Austin area that has applied for the Baby Friendly designation there are currently no hospitals in the Austin area that carry that designation.

However there are several hospitals in the area that are a part of the Texas Ten Step program which was set up to help facilitate a better breastfeeding start and provide better support for moms in the hospital postpartum.
